What To Expect

When you make your first massage appointment, you will be asked to complete an intake form. You should arrive fifteen minutes before your appointment to allow time to check-in, complete any required forms, and make payment.

Here's what you can expect at your massage therapy appointment:

  • Your massage therapist will greet you and show you to one of our relaxing treatment rooms.
  • There, your therapist will review your health intake form and ask questions.
  • The intake and assessment process is included in the 60-minute session, and its duration may vary based on the patient’s medical history and specific needs.
  • Your therapist will tailor your session to your individual needs and address your concerns.
  • The massage therapist will explain what the session will entail. Then, your therapist will leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level.
  • When you are ready, you'll lie on the massage table with a sheet to cover you.
  • Your therapist will re-enter the room to begin your treatment. They'll turn on relaxing music and soften the lighting.

During your session, only the area being treated will be exposed while the rest of your body remains covered for your comfort and privacy. Your therapist will check in with you throughout the session to ensure you feel at ease with the treatment. Open communication is encouraged — please share any preferences regarding pressure, comfort, areas of discomfort, or any questions you may have. A successful massage experience relies on two-way communication between you and your therapist.

Depending on your needs, your massage therapist may incorporate various techniques, including but not limited to Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, craniosacral therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage. Your therapist will recommend the most suitable approach or combination of techniques, within their training, to help you achieve your treatment goals.

For certain conditions, a provider’s note may be required before receiving massage therapy:

  • Prenatal massage
  • Oncology massage
  • Recent surgeries or hospital admissions — Please consult with your healthcare provider before booking your next session.

Additionally, if you are feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment.
