Patient nutrition and visitor dining options
Food Services
Please note that hospitalized patients must have physician approval to eat any food other than what is served in their rooms.
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing food or drink into patient rooms.
Patient Nutrition
At Winchester Hospital, we know that balanced, nourishing and wholesome meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery.
Our food and nutrition team prepares and provides meals that meet your diet based on your provider's orders. Please let us know if you have a food allergy.
A team member visits you each day to:
- Explain our services
- Take your meal order
- Deliver meals to your room
If a family member or visitor would like to dine with you, they may order a guest meal for an extra charge.
Meal Delivery
The usual serving times for patient meals are:
- Breakfast between 7:30 and 9 am.
- Lunch between 11:30 am. and 1 pm.
- Dinner between 4:30 and 6 pm.
- Weekends & Holidays: limited selections between 6:30 am. and 6:30 pm.
If you miss a meal because of your medical circumstances, we make every effort to arrange a late meal for you.

Dining Options for Visitors
Visitors to Winchester Hospital have several dining options for meals.
Hospital Cafeteria
Our cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The menu features a grill, salad bar, soup and deli station, plus a variety of hot and cold foods.
Cafeteria hours are:
- Breakfast 6:30–10:45 am.
- Lunch 11:30 am. – 1:30 pm.
- Dinner 4–6:30 pm.
The cafeteria is located on the first floor.
Waterfield’s Café
Waterfield’s Café offers drinks, meals and snacks. The menu includes:
- Baked goods
- Espresso drinks
- Panini sandwiches
- Salads
- Starbucks coffees
- Tazo teas
The café is open Monday through Friday from 9 am. to 8 pm.
Vending Machines
We provide vending machines for snacks and beverages. You can find vending on the ground floor, in the hallway between the laboratory and the Emergency Department.
