Billing and Financial Assistance 

Access billing and insurance resources to pay your bill, read a list of insurance plans we accept and learn about financial aid options. You can also find price transparency and other billing policies. 

Dining, Snack and Drink Options  

Please note that hospitalized patients must have physician approval to eat any food other than what is served in their rooms.  

We provide nutritious patient meals and several dining optionsfor visitors.

The Winchester Hospital cafeteria and Waterfield’s Café provide coffee, drinks, hot meals, salads, sandwiches and snacks throughout the day

Vending machines are located near the Emergency Department.

Medical Records 

Get fast access to your medical records. You can also use our portal to make changes or request copies.

Patient Portal 

Manage your health care online with our MyBILH Chart. The portal is a free, secure online resource that gives you easy access to your health records.  

Telephone and Cell Phone Use

Local (Massachusetts and New Hampshire) telephone services are provided free to our patients.  Telephones are located at each bedside. Long-distance calls are handled by an outside operator and will be charged a fee.

If you have any problems with your hospital telephone, call the Service Response Center at 781-729-9000. You also may dial “0” and the hospital switchboard operator will assist you.

Due to technology and sensitive patient areas, we may limit cell phone usage in certain hospital locations.

Public telephones are available on the ground floor near the vending machines.

Visiting Hours and Policies  

Visiting hours are 8:00 am – 8:00 pm daily.  

As COVID-19 cases have declined and hospitalizations due to COVID-19 remain low, we have returned to more conventional guidance for inpatient visitors and patient escorts in the hospital. Most patients are allowed two visitors at a time. Learn more about our visiting hours and policies.

Services for Patients and Visitors with a Disability

At Winchester Hospital, we offer many services to accommodate patients and families with special needs, such as: 

  • Access to teletypewriters (TTYs) and telecommunications devices for the deaf (TDDs), as well as volume control telephones 
  • Handicapped parking 
  • Interpreters in many languages via Video and Audio services
  • American Sign Language interpreters 
  • Wheelchair accessible restrooms 

Amenities

ATM
An ATM is located on the ground floor of the main corridor, near the vending machines and the Emergency Department.
Gift Shop
The Winton Club Gift Shop sells a variety of cards, flowers, gift items and toiletries. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 am. to 2 pm. and is closed on weekends.
Internet Access 

Winchester Hospital offers secure, complimentary, wireless internet access in the cafeteria, common areas and patient rooms for patients, visitors and vendors. From your handheld or laptop device, simply open your internet browser and select the Winchester Guest network.

Lost and Found  

If you lose an item or find one, please report it to hospital lost and found staff by calling 781-729-9000.

Please don’t bring valuables to the hospital. Our staff will do our best to assist you with the safekeeping of your belongings. However, we are not responsible for lost or stolen items

Newspapers

Patients can request delivery of The Boston Globe, USA Today or the Boston Herald to their rooms by calling the Service Response Center at 781-729-9000.

Daily newspapers are available for sale in machines near the Emergency Department on the ground floor or in the cafeteria on the first floor off the main lobby.
