Using your mind to heal
Hypnotherapy at Winchester Hospital
The Center for Healthy Living at Winchester Hospital offers professional hypnotherapy to treat many health conditions. We help adults, teens and children overcome day-to-day challenges and feel empowered in body and mind. Some of our commonly used services include hypnotherapy for stress, sleep difficulties, weight management, fears, phobias, chronic paid and smoking.
Hypnotherapy uses relaxation techniques to create a state of consciousness where the mind is more receptive to positive suggestions. Hypnotherapy can help you if you are open-minded and want to make healthy changes. It is not a form of psychotherapy. Hypnosis can be an effective complement to other forms of health care.
How Does Hypnotherapy Work?
In your hypnotherapy session, the hypnotherapist uses words and multisensory imagery to bring you into a state of relaxation and heightened focus. In this state, the brain is unusually responsive to an idea or image. During your session, you remain in control. A hypnotherapist cannot control your mind or make you do something you don’t want to do.
Using hypnotherapy techniques, you can learn to master your own state of awareness. This helps you to control your physical and psychological responses.
As part of your session, you can expect to:
- Get a list of strategies and resources for relaxation
- Learn self-hypnosis
- Receive a digital audio file to support you at home
The cost is $85 per one hour session. We offer both telehealth and in-person sessions. Pre-payment on Visa or Mastercard is required. We do not accept gratuity.
Winchester Hospital does not bill insurance for hypnotherapy. If your insurance covers hypnotherapy, we can provide you with the documentation you need to submit a claim for reimbursement.
New Patients will be asked to complete a New Patient Intake Form and Questionnaire when making an appointment.
