Varicose Vein Removal

Varicose veins affect half of those age 50 and older, and 15–25% of all adults. Experts estimate that 20–25% of women and 10–15% of men have or will have varicose veins in their lifetime.

The provides expert care and a full range of treatment options for varicose veins. Many varicose veins can be eliminated without surgery — safely, quickly and comfortably.

Minimally Invasive Vein Treatments

Some of the innovative and effective procedures we offer include:

  • Foam sclerotherapy. Your vascular physician uses a unique foam solution to eliminate larger veins — without making any incisions.
  • Microphlebectomy. This procedure removes varicose veins through incisions (cuts) as small as the size of a needle tip. After undergoing this procedure, you can return to your normal activities right away.
  • Sclerotherapy for spider veins. In this series of treatments, your specialist uses an extremely small needle to eliminate the underlying sources of unusual venous pressure that cause spider veins.
  • Radiofrequency Ablation/VNUS Closure procedure. Using local anesthesia, your specialist places a catheter (thin, flexible tube) into the diseased vein. Your specialist then uses heat to seal the vein shut.  This can be performed in our office based accredited vein center or as day surgery at Winchester Hospital.
