About Our Childbirth Class

Pregnancy can be a joyous time, but it’s often a time filled with questions about labor and the delivery of your precious new bundle.

This class is taught by a Certified Childbirth Educator. It is designed for expectant parents preparing to deliver their baby within 4-8 weeks of the class date.

Some of the topics covered are:

• The labor process: pre-labor signs, stages of labor
• Comfort measures: positioning, breathing and relaxation, partner participation, medication options
• What to expect at the hospital: what to pack, what questions to ask, recovery
• Medication options: birth preferences, communication with providers 

Class Format Options

• Online classes:
  • Two-part series weekday classes with two, 2-hour classes (total of 4 hours)
  • Saturday classes, approximately 4.5 hours

• In-person Saturday classes are offered on a limited basis. In-person classes are approximately 6 hours. (An after-class tour of the Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby Unit may be offered at the conclusion of class, if rooms are available for viewing. This after-class tour is not guaranteed.)

How To Register for Class

1. Click on the Register or View Calendar buttons on this page to see a calendar of our upcoming classes.
2. Find the class day and time that you would like to attend and select it on the calendar. This will bring you to the registration form.
3. Fill out the online class registration form and submit it.
