Winchester Hospital Earns National Recognition as a High-Performing Hospital

Winchester, MA – Winchester Hospital has been named by U.S. News & World Report a 2025-2026 Best Hospital and received seven high performing ratings in the group’s annual best hospital report.

“Winchester Hospital is committed to meeting the needs of our community, and this recognition shows that quality remains at the core of our mission,” said Tim Jones, interim president, Winchester Hospital. “We’re proud to be setting a standard for high-quality care, close to home.”

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

Winchester Hospital was rated as high performing in seven adult procedures and conditions: congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement and pneumonia.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
